Hi Ron,
It looks like you, Charlie, and I are all from different Yates families. There were/are a lot of them.
Charles Venable Maddox and Elizabeth Yates are in your database. I just saw another name that rang a bell. Recently I got a message from FamilySearch.org that Elizabeth Yates' ancestor Constance Hopkins came over on the Mayflower. She married Nicholas Snow in Plymouth Colony MA. Lineage: Benjamin Yates - Nancy Boydstun - Mehitable Snow - Jabez Snow - Prence Snow - Mark Snow - Nicholas Snow and Constance Hopkins. Or put another way . . .
Nicholas Snow m. Constance Hopkins in Plymouth Colony MA; she came over on the Mayflower
Son Mark Snow m. Jane Prence
Son Prence Snow m. Hannah Storrs
Son Jabez Snow m. Elizabeth Lewis
Dau Mehitable Snow m. David Boydston Sr
Dau Nancy Boydstun m. Joshua Yates Sr
Son Benjamin Yates m. Verlinda Ford
Dau Elizabeth Yates m. Charles Venable Maddox
I can't quite wrap my head around having a Mayflower ancestor, assuming it's correct. Anyway, thanks for the link to your database. DNA gets diluted out with each generation, so you may not have a match although you have a common ancestor generations back.
Best wishes, Sally
